Pulmonary Rehabilitation Course (online)

There is more to managing respiratory disease than just prescribing medicines. For respiratory patients to live in better health for longer, be more functionally able and be able to engage in meaningful activities they enjoy, clinicians must look beyond pharmacological intervention and offer Pulmonary Rehabilitation early within the patient journey.

During this course we will explore the key aspects of pulmonary rehabilitation from point of referral through to assessment and treatment. We will discuss the essential components and explore who could benefit and how. We will discuss the challenges of behaviour change, goal setting, and explore what constitutes success - from the services perspective, but more importantly from the patient’s perspective. We will then consider how to promote equitable access for all, ensuring all patients who could benefit have the opportunity to do so.

This course is designed for health professionals to create "pulmonary rehab advocates".
