Chris has worked for over 20 years as a respiratory nurse initially setting up and running a COPD service with the advent of the GP contract in 2004. In 2007 she moved into education and was COPD and Spirometry lead at EFH. During these years as the lead for spirometry she has been instrumental in spirometry standards and training and is the author of the Top Ten Tips for spirometry which has recently been republished at the Seven steps to standardised spirometry. She has sat on the NICE COPD guidelines committee (2010) and has a passion for all thing’s spirometry.
She believes every person has a right to the correct diagnosis and treatment and the current misdiagnosis must be addressed by appropriate training and education. Her recent redundancy and loss of her mum (who occasionally spoke with her as she had respiratory disease) has inspired her to establish her own company and utilise her years of experience.
