As a specialist nurse practitioner, I bring over 17 years of experience to my current role in primary care, providing comprehensive respiratory care for patients of all ages, from 2 to 102. My expertise encompasses the entire spectrum of respiratory conditions, from undiagnosed and poorly managed cases to end-of-life advanced care planning. I am also proficient in conducting annual reviews and care home evaluations.

My passion for respiratory care stems from my early experiences at Breathing Space in Rotherham, where I worked my way up from band 5 to band 7 in the inpatient unit for acutely unwell chronic respiratory patients. Witnessing the transformative impact of my care on patients recovering from exacerbations or navigating respiratory failure fuelled my dedication to this field.

My commitment to lifelong learning has led me to actively pursue educational opportunities, including those provided by Rotherham Respiratory. These courses have equipped me with the practical skills and knowledge to effectively manage respiratory patients. This expertise extends to my current workplace, where I am able to assess the needs of learners and recommend suitable courses to support their professional development.

My personal experience with asthma, both as a patient from birth and as a parent of a child with significant asthma, has further deepened my understanding of the challenges faced by those living with respiratory conditions. This personal connection drives my passion for providing patient-centred care that addresses not only the physical aspects of respiratory disease but also the emotional and social impact.

Working closely with Sheffield Children's Hospital and the Children & Young People Alliance, my goal is to ensure that every child receives the highest quality, evidence-based care to manage their asthma effectively and live a fulfilling life.

With my extensive experience, unwavering dedication, and personalised approach, I am committed to providing exceptional respiratory care to patients of all ages, empowering them to manage their condition and live their lives to the fullest.
